As a metal artist, I feel that art should be fun above all things. Success for me is putting a smile on someone's face. I love working in the fourth dimension of movement. My happy place is creating whimsical kinetic mobiles that dance in the wind. My sculptures are made using cutoff waste and scrap from various manufacturing sources. I sketch my subject on paper first to establish overall size and proportion. The sketch is also where I map out the logistics of the mechanical movement of the piece. The metal is cut using a hand held Plasma cutter then shaped by hand and finally welded together. My sculptures are then rigged using salt water fishing tackle. Motion sculptures are meticulously balanced and assembled to create a life like fluid movement.
